Madam, – Gay Byrne (Weekend Review, February 13th) may be frightened for his generation, but it should not be forgotten that pretty much everyone who depends on the State for their income (including those with disabilities) has faced a cut following the budget – except pensioners.
Retired public workers also escaped a reduction following the introduction of the pension levy, despite productivity increases inexplicably being passed on to them not so long ago. – Yours, etc,
