Sir, - I read with disbelief about the behaviour of gardai in relation to their new computer system (The Irish Times, November 16th). Surely the new system cannot be worse than the last one. If is better, it will make the gardai's work easier; if it is worse, it will cause overtime, and thus more money in their pockets. Why, then, are they refusing to work it and going against the orders of their commissioner? Really this is no example to be showing the public whom they want to obey the law.
If gardai do not do what they are told how, can they expect others to do what gardai tell them? - Yours, etc.,
