Sir, - An official pamphlet, issued in Dublin Castle on December 6th to mark the 75th anniversary of the coming into being of the Irish State, is a sick joke.
The first person referred to in this document is the leading Warrior of Destiny, Eamon de Valera, who commanded an armed opposition to the foundation of the new State. There is no acknowledgement whatsoever of the dauntless and talented team which established stable government while contending with a civil war.
The memories of W. T. Cosgrave and his gallant colleagues are deserving of much better than a muted and misshapen memorial. - Yours, etc.,
Morehampton Terrace, Dublin 4.
