Sir, - The Eastern Health Board has been appealing for foster homes for the hundreds of children in their care. In a society that has been expressing so much concern for the welfare of children, this is indeed surprising.
So where are our self proclaimed experts on child care - the Louis Lentins, Pat Kennys, Cian O Tighearnaighs; the O'Tooles (Fintan and Joe) the Joe Duffys, to mention but a few?
If they are as concerned as they profess, one would expect them to lead the way in providing accommodation for these deprived children, for even a year.
With all the "mod cons" and the easy availability of babysitters, a few children would not impinge too much on their freedom. Let's hear from them. Actions speak louder than words. - Yours, etc.,
Castleknock,
Dublin 15.
