Sir, - I refer to correspondence in your columns recently in relation to the All Ireland GAA Football Final Replay, and to the memorable scenes during the encounter. Frankly, I thought that the programme schedulers in Channel 4 got it about right when they scheduled for the Monday night "Gaelic Football Final: the Replay" and immediately there after, as a proper and very natural concatenation, the Australian soap Let the Blood Run Free (I swear) followed by the movie Moulin Rouge. the story of the life of a cripple!
Obviously, an attempt to give cinematic effect to the Meath anthem You'll Never Walk Again. In view of the implications for the GAA of this type of programming, I would say to the president of the GAA: "Put the boot, Man, into those West Brits in C4." - Yours,
Templeogue, Dublin 6W.
