Sir, - On December 9th, Aer Lingus New York announced its new "simplified, customerfriendly excursion fare" of $318. On December 11th I booked three tickets to Dublin for various dates in March '98.
I obtained one at $318; the others cost $348 and $507 because the $318 seats either were not available, or the days of departure (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) did not fulfil Aer Lingus requirements. Taxes amount to an extra $40 per ticket.
Is this a record for being "simplified and customer-friendly?" - Yours, etc.,
East 79th Street, New York NY10021.
