Sir, With reference to Patricia Wall's letter (December 3rd) in relation to Carlow Cathedral: Ms. Wall is quick to suggest that Father Byrne bent to Roman infallibility in the matter of reordering the Cathedral of the Assumption in Carlow.
May I remind Ms. Wall of the hackneyed adage: "When in Rome . . .". No insult meant to the fine people of Carlow, but Carlow is a far cry from the eternal city both geographically and culturally. - Yours, etc.,
