Sir, - As I was being driven along the Con Colbert Road this morning towards Blanchardstown, I looked at the display of daffodils stretching away into the distance on either side of the road, and thought what a waste of time and money it was to plant these flowers.
The amount of filth and litter (mainly plastic sheets and bags) completely destroys any pleasure the passer-by might take from the plants. It's time the Corporation and County Councils members got out of their offices and ensured that our motorways get a thorough clean-up.
We are encouraged to "Discover Ireland, wherever it takes us". Hopefully, not along the Con Colbert, Lucan or Naas roads. - Yours, etc.,
James's Street, Dublin 8.
