Madam, - I note that the chief executive of BreastCheck, Mr Tony O' Brien, is considering population-based screening for women below the age of 50.
I feel he would be better to focus his energies on offering appointments to women aged 50 to 64 living in Kerry, Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal who have yet to be offered screening. Mr O'Brien is adding insult to injury for the women of these counties when he refers to the "next priority".
It is now over eight years since this excellent screening programme was commenced. I wish he would get his priorities right. - Yours, etc,
