Madam, - Your Editorial of November 15th on "Enda Kenny's consistently poor showing in the opinion polls" ends by referring to the public's consistent "demand for strong leadership".
Since becoming leader of Fine Gael Mr Kenny has shown he is a committed and capable leader who has rebuilt a shattered party and brought it to its current position of strength. He has a clear vision and strategy for his party and country. His honesty, integrity and commitment to social justice are refreshing and reassuring in these difficult times.
Please judge Mr Kenny on his record, not on your opinion polls. - Yours, etc,
Madam, - Your recent opinion poll findings suggest that, if an election was held in the morning, Fine Gael could end up as the largest party in the Dáil and be in pole position to form the next government.
But Fine Gael had better be careful, or else such a scenario could develop. And then the party would have to preside over decisions that would make the problems faced so far by the present Government seem like a stroll in the park. - Is mise,
SEAMUS BONNER, Charlemont, Dublin 9.
