Sir, Twice in our Sunday newspapers the expression, "you cannot have your cake and eat it", was quoted.

I am wondering what good is it having a cake if you cannot eat it.

The expression as we were taught was "you cannot have your cake and your halfpenny". - Yours, etc.,
