Sir, - Now that the bun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council have completed their fine County Hall at a cost of £10.5 million (Property Supplement January 30th) wouldn't it be a generous gesture if the derelict Pavilion site opposite was transformed into an equally fine Local Authority Housing Development?
An imaginative use of the space could give an immediate impact to people arriving at the Ferry Terminal of a County Council caring both for all aspects of development and design in its area and to the local people who, for many years, have been in need of a decent place to live.
The less well off long term residents of Dun Laoghaire are surely in need of recognition in their own town after so many years of shameful neglect. A housing list of over 1,300 is nothing short of scandalous in such a "rich" county. - Yours, etc.,
Cambridge Terrace, York Road,
Dun Laoghaire.
