Sir – The current financial model being operated by the Dún Laoghaire Harbour cannot bring us forward. A seasonal ferry service, four private yacht clubs, a sailing school (my business), public marina and boat yard, the Commissioners of Irish Lights, a few fishing boats and a small number of other operators .
Due to seasonality these operations cannot financially support the harbour all year. We need the same numbers of the public to be using harbour facilities at mid- summer as mid-winter. Well done the Harbour Company. We need this masterplan (Home News, June 13th) to move forward rapidly to open access for public participation. – Yours, etc,
