Sir, - Am I the only person to be concerned that, despite the proposed, though investment in the Luas project, there appears to be no plan to use the opportunity to provide an efficient link between the two main existing commuter stations in Dublin, Connolly and Heuston. I fail to see how anyone can justify bringing the light railway to Heuston Station, running it as far as O'Connell Street and then, just within waving distance of Connolly Station, it, sweeps right across O Connell Bridge.
This plan takes no account, of large potential markets, drawing on people wishing to travel by train from Belfast to the south west, from south Co Dublin to the North and from North Co Dublin to the south and southwest, it is time for public, transport in Dublin to be organised on a rational basis, rather than on what appears to be rather questionable figures for the reduction in cars from certain parts of south Dublin.
I would welcome an explanation from those involved in planning the Luas system for this lack of integration with the existing rail network in Dublin. - Yours. etc.,
The Ward,
Co Dublin.
