Sir, - I have just returned from a three week stay in Dublin, where I and 59 other French teachers attended a summer course in Trinity College. Although I enjoyed my stay and appreciated the Irish hospitality, my holiday was marred by the appalling state of the city bus service.
Everyday I travelled to and from Trinity by bus and was disgusted by the filthy state of the buses, inside and out, and on some occasions, the dirty clothing of the drivers and conductors not to mention the pollution caused by these buses.
