Sir, - The exasperation caused by Dublin Bus's policy of requiring "exact fares" is not confined to tourists and non-nationals. An Irish person not living in Dublin, is similarly inconvenienced when visiting the capital.
How can anybody, Irish or not, be expected to know the exact fare, when the exact fare is not even displayed at bus-stops? No other service, to my knowledge, has a policy of not informing the consumer of the price of the service it offers and then keeping the change if the unsuspecting consumer does not have the exact amount. - Yours, etc.,
