Sir, - It would seem that the term "majority" when used in Northern Ireland changes according to circumstances. We hear of a majority there wanting certain actions, yet in the context of Ireland as a whole this majority becomes a minority.
In your report on Drumcree, in your edition of July 8th, you report the Rev Martin Smyth as saying: "the majority community is saying enough is enough". At what point does a minority within a certain community become a majority? Surely the Rev. Smyth, in Northern Ireland definitions of minority/majority, is speaking on behalf of the residents of Garvaghy Road when he makes this statement. - Yours, etc.,
