A Chara, - Once again an attempt is made to explain student dropout rates ("Alcohol under suspicion for college dropout rates", The Irish Times, May 29th ). Among all the various reasons put forward over the years, I have yet to see any reference to lecturing standards in third-level institutions.
In first- and-second level institutions, a decision to transfer a pupil to a different school immediately suggests dissatisfaction with the original school. - Is mise,
