Madam, - Your music critic, Michael Dervan, seems to have suffered a memory lapse when comparing the recent performance of Verdi's Requiem by the RTÉ Philharmonic Choir in the National Concert Hall with a performance last November in Belfast by, he said, the Belfast Philharmonic Choir and Ulster Orchestra under Celso Antunes (Reviews, March 6th).

In fact, approximately half the chorus that night in the Waterfront Hall was composed of members of Dublin's Guinness Choir. I know, because I have sung as a tenor in the Guinness choir for the past 11 years, and with the RTÉ Philharmonic for the past three years.

I participated in both these performances, which each received a standing ovation. - Yours, etc,
