Madam, - We refer to an article in your edition of September 5th about the proposed introduction of an opt-out process regarding organ donation for transplants.
As the organisation representing families whose children and loved ones organs were removed, retained and in some cases sold without the knowledge or consent of the next of kin, we feel it would be better for the medical profession to concentrate on rebuilding trust in order that families can be fully confident that whatever system is in place is no longer open to the abuse of power and authority. - Yours, etc,
