Madam, — When is a male Irish citizen not an Irishman? We are told (Seven Days, Weekend Review, March 14th) that the richest Irishman is Denis O’Brien, but that the wealthiest Irish citizen is Indian-born Pallonji Mistry. When, in seven years’ time, we come to commemorate the centenary of 1916, how will we describe men such as Tom Clarke (born Isle of Wight), James Connolly (born Edinburgh) and Eamon de Valera (born New York), who played key roles in the events of that year?
