Madam, - It is clear that the great majority of those who attended Declan Ganley's dinner party last week are opposed to the current direction the EU is taking. The question is: why?
President Klaus of the Czech Republic believes climate change isn't happening but supports Nato, whilst Patricia McKenna thinks we're not doing enough to tackle climate change, and opposes Nato. Viscount De Villiers opposes free trade, whilst Mr Ganley worries about EU protectionism restricting free trade.
In fairness, they do all agree that they want to replace the Lisbon Treaty, presumably with some sort of treaty that manages to be both for and against tackling climate change, for and against European defence, and in favour of some eye-boggling version of free-trade protectionism.
Personally, I'd like to see this particular group in action, running the country. Not my country, obviously, but someone else's.
