Sir, - This year sees the centenary of the birth of Cyril Fagan (1896-1970). I'm currently involved in a research project about this man's life and work. He is one of the most eminent astrologers of this century, and certainly the most significant to come out of Ireland in modern times. He started up the Irish Astrological Society some time between 1916-1919, of which W. B. Yeats was the patron, and acted as an advisor to Yeats regarding his practice of astrology. He also made some fundamentally significant contributions to the history of the origins of the zodiac in ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt.
