In the tragic case in Donegal, Erin Gallagher did exactly that. She told her mother, who in turn reported the alleged abuse to the gardaí.
The Garda Síochána is looking into the circumstances surrounding the case. If it was the case that the gardaí didn’t feel empowered by the law to intervene, legislation must be set in place to ensure that complaints involving cyber-bullying are taken incredibly seriously.
