Sir, - Your Editorial "Valley of Boom" (October 15th) states that there is growing concern about the cross-channel colonisation of Irish shopping - and so there should be, among Irish retailers.
Unless they can learn from their British counterparts about customer care, customer service and quality of merchandise, they will continue to lose their share of the market.
Who cares if the shops are British, German or from any other EU country? If the product is right and the service is right, the customer will have a desire to shop there. Let's not forget the jobs that have been created by these British outlets.
