Sir, - After attending a concert or production, there is often mild bewilderment on reading the views of a critic.
In describing the performance of the Argentinian tenor, Jose Cura, at the NCH recently, the reviewer in the Sunday Independent (May 5th) stated: "There were echoes here of the young Domingo, in his exquisite phrasing ... However, in an overall conflicting analysis, The Irish Times critic (May 4th) wrote: ". . . his sense of phrasing is non existent"!
As a contrast in the opinions of experts, is this a record? - Yours, etc.,
Rathfarnham, Dublin 16.
