Sir, - I wonder when the 1,000 refugess from Yugoslavia to whom the Government is said to have offered shelter in Ireland are going to arrive? In our parishes here in West Wicklow we have prepared plans to welcome up to 30 and accomodate them in halls which we would adapt for the purpose. The logistics of moving 1,000 refugess from the Balkans to Ireland by air must be relatively simple and air travel is relatively cheap. It would be equally simple for them to fly back when the time comes. We understand that it is Government policy to keep all the refugees in large groups within large towns. However, we are still ready and willing to welcome them, as I am sure are many other smaller communities throughout Ireland. We believe they would benefit from their stay among us, as we know we would benefit from their presence with us. Meanwhile, why is there a delay? - Yours etc.,
