Madam, - Over the past five years the cost of car insurance for young people has gone sky high and the Government has done nothing to rectify this. There is a very simple solution that works in Canada and New Zealand.
All that is needed is for the cost of third party insurance to be included in the price of petrol at the pumps. With such a system in force there are no uninsured drivers, young people are no longer screwed by insurance companies and the more miles one drives the greater the cost of the insurance.
Comprehensive cover and fire and theft insurance, which is at the discretion of the driver, can still be sought from insurance companies. - Yours, etc.,
