Sir, - Over the coming weekend, on May 26th, in our small town, we hold the AIMS Choral Festival. About 44 choirs and groups come here. How many people know this?
Tomorrow, May 25th, we have the premier choir in the British Isles, the winner of The Sainsbury Choir of the Year competition on BBC, in concert here in our small town. Another minor miracle. How many people know this?
I ask in desperation, because as part of a voluntary group with no big budget, living away from easy access to national newspaper offices and radio stations, we have the experience year after year of sending dozens of press releases to every possible person, phoning and faxing at considerable expense, in advance, all with minimal results from the national media.
Is there a magic formula? How do we get a response? Do the media people have much interest in happenings outside our larger cities? Do other people have the same problem? Has anyone solved it? All advice gratefully received. - Yours, etc

Co Wexford.
