Sir, - I am writing to you because I am concerned about the effects that some television programmes have on children - especially "wannabe" teenagers. They often try to act as though they are characters in programmes such as Friends simply to be like the others in their class.

Children are watching rude, vulgar, unreal and stupid incidents that couldn't possibly happen in everyday life. Companies everywhere are making millions exploiting children by selling merchandise regarding these programmes. They are ruining childhood by causing peer pressure and most of all polluting our minds. - Yours, etc.,
