Sir, - I refer to the letter of M. W. Walker of the Freemasons of Ireland, (January 22nd) in which he speaks of the "charitable ethos" of the Freemasons. Mr Walker says that the Freemasons are "entirely non political and a non sectarian fraternal organisation, with a charitable ethos and neither politics nor religion may ever be discussed in a masonic environment."
Two years ago, the bishops of Ireland, after deliberating for years and after hearing many experts on the subject, issued a booklet New Age of the Spirit to counteract the all pervading influence of "The New Age Movement" on society in general, including Irish society. The bishops identified the Freemasons as being the main backers of this movement. I have yet to see any comprehensive article on this movement in any of our newspapers or magazines, which is a movement far too complex to outline in detail in a letter such as this, but numerous books have been written on it, the best being Constance Cumbey's The Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow, The New Age Movement and Our Coming Age of Barbarism. (In the light of recent murders in this country, who can say that we are not living in an age of barbarism?)
The main objective of the News Age Movement is the creation of a "New World Order", which involves a one world government, a one world religion, incorporating all religions, including black magic and witchcraft. The main objective of the movement is global control and it advocates the dissolution by whatever means necessary of individual countries. It also advocates a one world currency, control of the world's population by means of contraception, abortion, eugenics, and finally euthanasia. Constance Cumbey also identifies the Freemasons as being one of the main movers behind the New Age Movement.
The proudest boast of the French Freemasons is their responsibility for the French Revolution, which they still toast each year at their annual convention.
There were more priests and religious sent to the guillotine during that time than there was nobility, when thousands of churches and monasteries were plundered and burned. This is not conjecture. It is a matter of historical fact. Get off the stage Mr Walker! - Yours, etc.,
