Madam, – While driving to Galway on Thursday last (on business – not to attend the races), I was tailgated by an aggressive driver for about three kilometres before he took a chance and passed me just before a series of bends.
I commented to my son about the fact that drivers such as we had witnessed should never be allowed behind the wheel of a car.
Five minutes later we rounded another bend to find him safely in the arms of law having been caught in one of the three speed traps we witnessed on the Galway Road on our journey.
I looked to heaven and said “Thank you God,” as the garda approached the now stationary motorist who was obviously going to be late for whatever he was rushing to get to. – Yours, etc,
