Madam, - We, the undersigned teachers at Catholic University School, find the tone and thrust of the article about the school in your edition of October 7th wholly inaccurate. It does not reflect the views held by the majority of staff in CUS.
As major stakeholders in the school we are very concerned that we were never consulted about our feelings on the issue. We feel privileged to work in a challenging and yet rewarding environment. Madam, - Your reporter refers to CUS staff taking "their displeasure into the streets". As a concerned parent and in the interests of balanced reporting, I would like to point out to your readers that the accompanying photograph of Asti members protesting outside the home of retired Marist Fathers in Milltown does not include a single CUS staff member!
The "slow drip of negative publicity" for the school, referred to in the introduction to the article, appears to be coming from one of the two opposing sides. As your readers well know, there are two sides to every story. - Yours, etc,
