Sir, - Padraig O Conchuir sees fit to quote in your columns (June 4th) from a personal letter I wrote him. But I'm happy to agree that I told him that I wouldn't particularly relish being the only person holding my views at a lecture entitled "Casement's accusers accused" at the Roger Casement Irish Centre. I don't think this displayed a remarkable degree of prescience.
As one of the very few who have actually taken the trouble to go along to the Public Record Office to examine the diaries, with great care and a completely open mind, I would emphasise however, that I am still firmly of the opinion that they are authentic, and in this I am most certainly not "in a minority of one" amongst the general public, either here or in Ireland. - Yours, etc.,
House of Lords,
London.
