Sir, - May I join with Peter de Rosa (August 21st) in querying treatment of human embryos? I have often wondered why, if human life is considered as beginning at the moment of conception and abortion is considered murder, the results of miscarriages, particularly early miscarriages, and stillbirth are not given a full baptism and a full burial.
Strictly speaking, they should even be named and issued with a birth certificate. We don't treat them the same as fully-born children. Does that mean we are acknowledging that they are indeed different? Yours, etc.,
