Sir, - At present a campaign is underway to save Bray Head. Is it irony or just the nature of history that it should repeat itself? As the rebellion of 1798 is marked, the people once again feel powerless against a triumvirate of landlord, speculator and county management. Decision making is as undemocratic as it ever was.
Building on Bray Head is vandalism, far worse than the burning of gorse by schoolboys. It is being done by powerful people because they can get away with it. It will cause irreparable damage to the town's greatest amenity and subtly depress the mood of the people who will feel the loss of the countryside around them. It must be stopped. - Yours, etc., E. Quill,
Bray,
Co Wicklow.
