Sir, - With reference to John Horgan's article on Dr Lucey (An Irishman's Diary, May 26th), I was a student in UCC in the 1960s and at that time in Lent, the rules were that one could have one meal and two collations on Fridays. A collation was defined a light meal such as a cup of tea and a couple of biscuits. The result of this dietary restriction/recommendation was that biscuits became much bigger, about the size of a bread plate. They were called "Connie Dodgers". - Yours, etc.,
