Madam, – After all the letters to this paper recently highlighting the vast difference between millions and billions, The Irish Times, in its Editorial on June 11th, fell into that exact trap. Donal O'Connor "said potential losses at the recently nationalised bank [Anglo Irish Bank], which reported loan losses in the half-year to March of €4.9 billion, would rise to €7.5 billion and possibly up to €11 million". I take it that loan losses could amount to €11 billion in this context, as €11 million would be an insignificant amount in these times. However, somebody, somewhere has not been paying attention to the wealth of information from Letter-writers. How disappointing!
