Sir, - Having used the services of one particular bank for eight years and having been continually disappointed with the quality of its services and employees, I decided to organise my car loan with another leading bank in the hope that I might not have to worry about the transactions but rest assured that they were being managed in a professional manner.

However, it seems that Ireland is devoid of banks which spend time or money properly training their personnel. It would appear that no bank in this country is capable of managing simple current accounts and standing orders. I do, of course, understand that mistakes will always happen, inadvertently or otherwise, in banking or any other business, but mistakes made by banks are invariably at the expense (financial or otherwise) of the customer. I cannot understand the lack of customer respect that seems to exist across the board in this industry as in no other of which I am aware.

Perhaps the personnel who are properly trained and aware of the importance of customer satisfaction are kept only for those with large bank accounts. - Yours, etc.,
