A chara - Brendan O'Brien (May 28th) complained of poor standards of spelling, grammar and syntax in your paper. In his review of the musical blood brothers in the same issue, Gerry Colgan wrote the following, "As directed by Bob Thompson and Bill Kenwright, designed by Andy Walmslet and lit by Vince Herbert, the performers have all the backing they need to deliver this enormously entertaining production".
While theatre performers certainly require direction, the notion of them being designed and especially, lit is causing me some unease. I wonder if Actors' Equity is aware of this apparently inhuman treatment of its members? Is Mise - Prionnsias Breathnach,
