Madam, - The headline on a report by your Religious Affairs Correspondent, Patsy McGarry, refers to the Catholic primate of All-Ireland, Archbishop Seán Brady, as "Brady" ("Brady says Ireland's secular project has failed", August 18th). I find this reference to the Archbishop insulting.
As an Irish Times reader for almost 50 years, I have never seen the Head of the Church of England referred to as "Windsor". You correctly refer to the supreme governor of the Church of England as Queen Elizabeth II.
It appears the slippage in standards of etiquette and courtesy is not confined to theatregoers at the Gate, but has spread to the proprietors of the New Lady of Tara Street. - Yours, etc,
TOM COOPER, Knocklyon, Dublin 16.
