Sir, - Perhaps Dr Michael Scott (January 30th) should talk to: James Dunne, current Christina Murphy Memorial prize winner; Chris Lowry, Observer Critic of the Year award while a student at Griffith College; Roisin Hickey (first place the Institute of Bankers); Anthony Kearns, winner ESB/Veronica Dunne Singing Competition; Rebecca Cap, winner Maurice Grant Bursary Award, Feis Ceoil 1998; David O'Neill, Simon MacDonald, Kevin O'Reilly and Evan O'Reilly, current champions of the CIMA National Management Game, winning against all contestants from the University and IT sectors, including Dr Scott's own DCU; Brendan O'Neill, Peter Ryan and Maurice Connolly recently placed in the ACA examinations. Perhaps he might be more convinced talking to one of his own students, Niamh Tully, placed first in her class in DCU's MBS in Marketing, having graduated in Business Studies at Griffith College.
Sharing each the Griffith College experience and the attributes of independence, determination and success, they are indeed all of one mindset if not of one mind. - Yours, etc., Diarmuid Hegarty,
Chairman, Griffith College, South Circular Road, Dublin 8.
