Sir, – On November 24th, 2011, Enda Kenny, Eamon Gilmore and Richard Bruton held a press briefing, complete with fancy signs and logos, and announced their plan to create 100,000 jobs by 2015 (Dáil report, November 25th).
On February 13th, 2012, Enda Kenny, Eamon Gilmore and Richard Bruton held a press briefing, complete with fancy signs and logos, and announced their plan to create 100,000 jobs by 2016.
Admittedly, there was news – they put the target date back a year! And the logos were new, more than likely expensive and undoubtedly financed by public funds.
Maybe this is another part of the Government’s austerity measures – recycled press briefings? – Yours, etc,
