Sir, - D. Hughes's letter regarding accessories on cars (September 10th) is clearly lacking any rational thought process. This is evident by simply applying the same flawed logic to other common observations. As my wife remarked, "Does that mean if a woman wears a short skirt she is of questionable virtue?"
I suggest that, rather than being distracted by the irrelevant, D.Hughes should undertake to perform random checks of brakes, lights, tax and insurance of cars on the public roads.
The cosmetic alterations D. Hughes refers to are appropriate for cars on public roads; otherwise the owners would fall foul of the National Car Test. Is that not obvious? - Yours, etc.,
