Sir, - Your Editorial of November 17th raises an interesting point about the equality aspects of Rule 21. The GAA is to be commended on the rule's abolition and the contribution this makes to a more equal community.
However, before the chattering classes of Hollywood, Co Down and Foxrock, Co Dublin lose the run of themselves with the onset of this new pluralism, consider why some golf clubs in this country still do not accord women the same membership rights as men. It's time to decommission this rule and these attitudes as well. - Yours, etc.,
