Madam, – The Taoiseach’s promise of a referendum to allow the Dáil to conduct fact-finding inquiries (Front page, April 20th) is another example of our Government’s priorities. Maybe that attention would be better focused on the children’s rights referendum which has been “promised” for several years now, or a referendum on the reform of Article 41.2 on the position of the woman within the home. The government does not seem to grant civil rights the same urgency. – Yours, etc,
