Madam, - Allow me to thank the driver of the DART from Pearse to Greystones on Friday last for his kind actions in rescuing the sleeping pigeon on the rail track.
One can only surmise why the pigeon choose to take up temporary residence beside the rail on that evening. Perhaps a few too many at the Trinity Ball? Whatever it was, the pigeon's sleep was certain to be suicidal had the driver of the incoming DART not braked in time. He then jumped from his cab, and carefully removed the pigeon to the safety of the platform.
Well done, sir. The actions of a generous soul. - Yours, etc.,
