Sir, – I think the Irish nation must honour the name of the person who has lifted the hearts of thousands of proud Irish men and woman standing in foreign fields. I hope the bridge will be named the Pete St John Bridge, or maybe the St John Bridge, to honour the great song composer.
Pete St John wrote The Fields of Athenry, the song which lifts the team fighting for an Irish victory at any sports occasion. It also lifts our hearts and makes us proud to be Irish. – Yours, etc,
