Madam, - Some years ago I spoke to Robert Sinnott, whose family motor-sailor Francesca plied Cork Harbour in the 1950s.
In the 1954 Tóstal, the Cork Choral Festival featured an Italian choir, a few of whose members were invited for a short day-cruise on Francesca. Which father and son entertained everyone and also sang at a Sinnott daughter's Holy Communion in the same week? Well, the son's name was Luciano Pavorotti. - Yours, etc,
