Sir, - I am sorry that Mr Frank McCourt takes such a narrow view of the Catholic Church (Irish Times, November 2nd, "This Week They Said"). I am a member of that Church, and during a long life it offered me consolation when it was needed.
Like any other institution it has its share of unsuitable servants, but the injustices they perpetrate, in no way diminish Christ's message which it brings to the world. - Yours, etc.,
